Bridging semiconductor innovation between Silicon Valley and Japan
CHIP-J (Connected Hub for Innovation and Policy – Japan) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem between Silicon Valley and Japan. Through regular study groups, industry events, and policy discussions, we foster cross-border collaboration among engineers, researchers, business leaders, and policymakers.
Born from the Silicon Valley Semiconductor Study Group and Bay Area Semiconductor Study Group communities, CHIP-J serves as a platform where knowledge meets policy, and innovation meets implementation.
Regular study groups covering cutting-edge semiconductor technology, manufacturing, and supply chain topics.
Connecting professionals from Japan and the U.S. semiconductor industries for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Facilitating dialogue between industry and government on semiconductor policy, including CHIPS Act and Japan's semiconductor strategy.
Weekly/bi-weekly study sessions covering semiconductor fundamentals, advanced packaging, EDA tools, fab processes, and industry trends. Open to all levels of expertise.
Inviting leaders from industry and government — including speakers from California GO-Biz, Rapidus Corporation, and leading research institutions — to share insights and engage in dialogue.
